Building Arrma Limitless – Applying Decals – Part 8

This is the 8th part and the final part of our tutorial series on how to build Arrma Limitless from zero to hero. In our part 7 tutorial, we covered the details on spray painting the body. Now, we shall learn to apply the stickers on the body. By the end of this tutorial, you will have finished building an Arrma Limitless RC car.

• Two sets of decals for Limitless – come with the package
• A pair of scissors
• Non-permanent marker or pen

Matching The Right Decal for The Right Area

We are given three sets of decals inside the Limitless box. We only need to use two of the sets, as shown below. The third set is not meant for the car.

Before we begin applying the decals, it is best to identify which sticker goes to where on the body of Limitless. Below is a series of photos that shows the placement for each decal, based on Hobby Horizon’s illustrations. You may choose to follow your own placements or use your own stickers. Applying the Stickers

We shall be applying the decals without the thin protective plastic layer on the outer side of the polycarbonate body shell.

It’s best to apply the decals right after you peeled the thin layer off so that there’s no dust or dirt on the surface.

Some decals are pretty large which makes them harder to apply. Therefore, you should cut out the sticker using a pair of scissors before removing the release liner. Hold it against the area in which you want to apply the sticker to ensure it fits. Then, plan on which edge you should begin the sticking process. This planning technique also helps to reduce air bubble formation beneath the decal.

Before you apply a sticker on the body shell, you should label the area with a non-permanent marker or pen. Ensure you can wipe off the ink after you apply the decal.

When applying the decal, make sure the surface is clear of dust or residue. If you make any mistake while applying a decal, slowly peel the decal off and reapply. This should not damage the sticker or its adhesive.
